Quick answer
In the staff app, open a team session and select Music. You will see exported tracks for its athletes and the club's songs. Select Save offline to listen at the gym, even without coverage.
There is not always mobile coverage in the gym. From a team session, you can listen to the athletes’ music and save it on your phone or tablet to play during training offline.
Available at clubs where Music Studio is enabled.
Before you start
- You need the staff app and the Music Studio permission (by default, this is granted to Head coach, Assistant coach and Administration; the club can adjust it for each person). You do not need Access to the admin dashboard.
- You only see teams you coach.
- You need a connection to save tracks. You do not need one to listen to them later.
- On iPhone and iPad, install the staff app on your home screen: if you use it only in Safari, the system may delete saved music after a few days without opening it.
Step by step
1. Open the team’s music
- In Home or Calendar, tap a team session.
- Below View team roster, tap Music.
The Team music screen has two sections:
- Athletes’ music: exported tracks featuring an athlete who is currently on the team.
- Club songs: the song folder the club has uploaded to Music Studio.
2. Listen to a track
Tap a row. The track opens in a player and starts from the beginning. Only one player can be open at a time: if you tap another track, the previous one closes and the new one starts.
The player includes:
- Progress bar: tap anywhere to jump to that point or drag the control to move through the track. Below it, you can see the elapsed and remaining time.
- −10 s and +10 s: skip back or forward by ten seconds, without going before the start or past the end.
- Play / Pause: the large button in the centre. When you pause, the track stays at the same point.
To close the player, tap the title. The track stops when it ends.
While a track is playing, the screen of your phone or tablet does not switch itself off, so you can prop it up during the exercise. When you pause or the track ends, the screen goes back to switching off after the device’s usual timeout. On iPhone and iPad, iOS or iPadOS 18.4 or later is required.
3. Save a track for offline use
- Tap the download button in the row (Save offline).
- When it finishes, the row shows Available offline.
Saved tracks play from the device, including in aeroplane mode.
4. Use music offline
Without a connection, open the team session and tap Music. You will see the notice “Offline: you can only see music saved on this device” and only the music saved for that team and the club songs you saved.
5. Remove tracks you no longer need
On a saved track, tap the bin button (Remove from device). Only the copy on your phone is deleted; the music remains at the club.
Device storage
At the bottom of the screen, Saved on this device shows how much space your saved music uses, for example “4.1 of 500 MB”. An exported track usually takes 1 to 3 MB; a song can take up to 25 MB.
- The offline music limit is 500 MB per device.
- If there is not enough free space, Clybo’ will not save the track and will show a message.
What is deleted and when
- When you sign out, all music saved on that device is deleted so nobody else can find it if the phone or tablet is shared.
- When you change clubs, it is not deleted, but you only see the music for your active club.
- With a connection, a saved exported track is removed from that team if no athletes on the team are still linked to it, or if the track has been deleted or exported again. The same applies to a song the club removes from its folder. If it was exported again, save it again.
If something goes wrong
- I cannot see the Music card: Music Studio is not enabled at your club or you do not have the Music Studio permission.
- “You have reached the 500 MB limit…”: remove a saved track before saving another.
- “There is not enough space on the device…”: free up space on your phone (photos, videos or other apps) and try again.
- “Could not save…”: check your connection and tap Save offline again.
- The screen switches off while a track is playing: update the system (on iPhone and iPad, to iOS or iPadOS 18.4 or later) and keep the staff app open in the foreground. If you switch to another app, the screen goes back to switching off as normal.
- An athlete’s track is missing: only exported tracks appear, not draft mixes. Ask its creator to export it from Music Studio.
