Quick answer
In the athlete's profile, open Payments, find the assigned fee and select Edit split. Choose one or two guardians, a club payment method for each, and positive percentages that add up to exactly 100%.
Splitting lets a recurring fee create a separate charge for each payer. It is intended for stable arrangements between two guardians linked to an athlete; it does not split one-off charges or change amounts that have already been generated.
Before you start
Check that both guardians are linked to the profile and that the payment methods you want to use are enabled for the club. If you choose bank collection, the payer needs an active BANK_SEPA mandate. Agree the percentages with the family first.
Step by step
1. Open the assigned fee
Open Athletes, select the profile and go to Payments → Assigned fees. In the recurring fee menu, select Edit split.
2. Choose one or two payers
Select guardians already linked to the athlete. You can keep one payer or add a second. Changing the profile’s main guardian does not by itself change this payment split.
3. Set percentages and methods
Assign each payer a positive percentage; with two payers, the percentages must add up to exactly 100%. Under Payment method, choose one of the club’s methods:
- Cash: always available.
- Card: shown only if the club has enabled card payments under Settings → Integrations.
- Bank collection: always shown, but you can select it only if that guardian has an active BANK_SEPA mandate.
Direct debit through Stripe or GoCardless is not available: use bank collection to collect a fee by direct debit.
4. Review the estimate
Check the estimated amount for each share and confirm that the total matches the fee. The estimate helps identify incorrect percentages, although rounding or future price changes may adjust the final amounts.
5. Choose when it takes effect
Under Apply change, choose an option:
- From the next charge (the default): the current month’s charge stays as it is, and the new split starts in the next period.
- From the current month: also applies the change to this month’s charge. This is available only if that charge has not been collected or sent yet (for example, it is not in a generated bank collection file or being processed by card) and you are changing only the payment method. If you change the guardians or percentages, the change starts with the next charge. This is how to switch a fee to bank collection if the current month’s charge was generated as cash.
If you choose card, this month’s charge is submitted in the next collection cycle. A split never rewrites the initial payment for an enrolment or any other one-off charge.
6. Track each charge separately
Clybo’ generates a separate charge and document for each payer. If one share fails, it is not automatically transferred to the other. Each guardian sees only their own charges and documents in the app, without the other payer’s financial details.
For example, a €50 fee exempt from tax, split 50/50 creates two €25 charges. When each share is paid, that guardian receives their own €25 receipt by email, in their name and with its corresponding PDF. The document for the first share paid does not wait for the other guardian to pay. Each payer needs an email address in their profile to receive it. If the club issues invoices, it issues one for each share and sends them through the invoicing process.
If something goes wrong
- A guardian does not appear: link them to the athlete’s profile first.
- You cannot save: check that the percentages are positive, add up to 100% and do not include the same payer twice.
- Bank collection is disabled: check the integration and that person’s active mandate.
- Card does not appear: the club has not enabled card payments; enable them under Settings → Integrations.
- The current charge does not change: you saved with From the next charge, or the current month was unavailable (the charge has already been collected or sent, or you changed guardians or percentages). The message shown when saving explains why and says which month the change starts.
- “From the current month” is disabled: the option’s text explains why. If you only want to change the method, keep the same guardians and percentages.
